Julia Johnson, J.D. is an Associate Attorney at the law firm of Baumann, Xu & Black LLC. Her law practice primarily handles a variety of immigration law matters, including business, family, and removal immigration cases.

Ms. Johnson earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky, where she graduated cum laude, majoring in both Philosophy, Politics & Economics (“PPE”) and Spanish Language & Literature.

Ms. Johnson attended law school at the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she graduated in 2020. Upon graduating from law school, Ms. Johnson moved to Guam in order to work as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Dana A. Gutierrez in the Superior Court of Guam. During her clerkship, Ms. Johnson worked on a wide range of local court cases, such as commercial civil litigation, felony criminal cases, domestic cases, probate, and more.

At the Baumann, Xu and Black law firm, Ms. Johnson represents corporate clients in matters involving the employment of foreign nationals in a wide range of industries, including construction, hospitality, education, healthcare and medicine, and entertainment. Ms. Johnson assists clients with a full range of immigrant and nonimmigrant matters including Specialty Workers (H-1B, E-2), temporary skilled and unskilled workers (H-2B), Intra-Company Transferees (L), Extraordinary Ability (O), Non-citizens of Extraordinary Ability and Multinational Managers (EB-1), PERM Sponsorship for Advanced Degree Professionals and Skilled Workers (EB-2 & 3), National Interest Waivers (EB-2), Family-Based Immigrant Petitions, as well as asylum and removal proceedings.

In Guam, Julia continually seeks out ways to stay involved in the local community through her extracurricular activities. When she’s not working, Julia enjoys spending time in the water, whether swimming, playing water polo, coaching the Amphibious Aquatics Swim Team, free-diving, or fishing
